Stardew Valley features seasonal festivals that bring the community together. Festivals are a great way to build friendship, earn unique items, and experience the gameโ€™s charm. Most festivals occur on fixed dates and replace the normal day schedule. This guide covers every festival in complete detail.

Spring Festivals

Egg Festival (Spring 13)

Activities:

The Egg Festival is your first festival and one of the most important events in Year 1. The main event is an egg hunt where you compete against other villagers to collect colored eggs hidden in the town square.

Egg Hunt Rules:

  • 28 eggs are hidden in the town square
  • You need to collect at least 9 eggs to win (Abigail always wins with 9)
  • You have a limited time to find eggs
  • Eggs are hidden in grass, behind objects, and in corners
  • Walk over eggs to collect them

Egg Hunt Rewards:

  • First place (9+ eggs): Straw Hat
  • Lose: No reward, but no penalty

Strawberry Seed Shopping (CRITICAL):

During the Egg Festival, Pierre sets up a shop selling strawberry seeds for 100g each. This is the only way to get strawberry seeds in Year 1. Buy as many as you can afford.

Tips:

  • Buy as many strawberry seeds as possible. Even spending all your gold is worthwhile.
  • Plant strawberry seeds immediately after the festival (before sleeping).
  • With 3 harvests from Day 13 planting, each plant yields 260g net profit.
  • If you have saved strawberry seeds from a previous year, plant them on Day 1 for up to 6 harvests.

Flower Dance (Spring 24)

Activities:

The Flower Dance is a social festival where villagers pair up and dance. You can dance with a villager if you have at least 4 hearts of friendship with them.

How to Dance:

  1. Talk to your chosen partner before the festival begins
  2. Ask them to dance when the option appears
  3. They will accept if you have 4+ hearts
  4. During the dance, talk to your partner to dance together

Tips:

  • Ask your partner before the festival starts (talk to them in town)
  • You cannot dance with another playerโ€™s spouse in multiplayer
  • Dancing gives a friendship boost with your partner
  • If you do not have 4 hearts with anyone, you can still attend and watch

Summer Festivals

Luau (Summer 11)

  • The friendship boost from the gift exchange is significant

Night Market (Winter 15-17)
