The Calico Desert is a vast, arid wasteland located far to the northwest of Pelican Town. This mysterious region holds some of the most valuable resources in Stardew Valley, including the dangerous Skull Cavern, the legendary Galaxy Sword, and unique shops and forageables found nowhere else. Unlocking the Calico Desert

The Calico Desert is not accessible from the start of the game. You must complete one of two methods to unlock transportation there.

Using the Bus

Location: Bus Stop (east of Pelican Town) Driver: Pam Cost: 500g per trip Schedule: Pam drives the bus on days when she is not at the Saloon (most days after unlocking)

Bus Hours:

  • Departure: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Return: Any time by clicking on the bus
  • Pam leaves for the day at 5:00 PM

Important: If you faint in the desert, you will be returned to the Clinic in Pelican Town and charged 1,000g.

Sandyโ€™s Oasis Shop

Obtaining the Galaxy Sword

Requirements:

  1. Obtain a Prismatic Shard
  2. Travel to the Calico Desert
  3. Walk to the Three Pillars
  4. Stand in the center of the three pillars
  5. Hold the Prismatic Shard
  6. Right-click on the center pillar

Result: The Prismatic Shard is consumed, and you receive the Galaxy Sword
